Customer Service Center Hours Will Be Reduced
Starting May 20, 2013, Unemployment Insurance customer service center hours will be reduced to 8 a.m. – 12 noon due to federal funding shortfall. The EDD urges our customers to use self-service options whenever possible, such as:
- eApply4UI: Apply or re-open your claim online.
- EDD Web-CertSM: Certify for benefits online.
- EDD Tele-CertSM: Certify for benefits over the phone.
- UI FAQs: Find answers to commonly asked questions.
- Ask EDD: Find information about EDD programs and submit questions about your claim online.

Tip of the Week
File for Paid Family Leave (PFL) through State Disability Insurance (SDI) Online
Use SDI Online to file for PFL. SDI Online is convenient and secure. The system reduces claim processing time, provides immediate electronic confirmation of forms submitted, decreases costs in paper and postage, and includes security safeguards to detect and manage fraud abuse.
