Career Executive Assignments & Exempt Positions
If you are a strong leader and have a proven track record of success, a Career Executive Assignment (CEA) might be for you. A CEA is defined as “as an appointment to a high administrative and policy influencing position within the state civil service in which the incumbent's primary responsibility is the managing of a function or the rendering of management advice to top level administrative authority.”
CEAs at the Employment Development Department (EDD) are members of the executive team and are responsible for the highest levels of policy and decision making.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a CEA, you must meet the minimum qualifications and have permanent civil service status as described in Government Code 19889.3, legislative employees who meet the criteria described in Government Code 18990 and exempt employees who meet the criteria described in Government Code 18992, may compete for a CEA position.
