CBU Training and Services Overview
What Is the CBU?
The Capacity Building Unit (CBU) of the Workforce Services Branch facilitates training sessions throughout California. The mission of the CBU is to provide staff development training to California’s workforce development community to enhance the competencies of the staff who administer workforce preparation programs.
Training sessions are provided at no cost to EDD Field Office staff, Local Workforce Investment Boards (LWIB), Local Workforce Investment Areas (LWIA), One-Stop operators and their partners. The CBU Training Catalog contains a description of each workshop offered, and the Training Calendar contains the dates, locations, and contact information of scheduled training sessions.
Training sessions may be hosted by any workforce development partner (shown above). If you would like information on the requirements for hosting a training session, please see the CBU Training Catalog or contact the CBU Manager at 916-654-8782.
CBU also provides WebCBU eLearning that you can access online at your convenience. The training is interactive and is provided as an alternative to classroom training.
