Get Tax Information (Form 1099G) With UI Online

En español

Form 1099G reports the total taxable compensation payments issued to you by the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) for a calendar year.  In California, since Unemployment Insurance (UI) is paid entirely by employers, it is taxable income and must be reported on your federal tax return. However, it is exempt from California state income tax.

Receive Form 1099G From the EDD.

During the last week of January, the EDD mails Form 1099G for the most recently completed tax year to all customers who were paid benefits by the EDD in the previous calendar year.  Once the mailing is complete on January 31st, your UI OnlineSM account is updated with Form 1099G information for the most recently completed tax year.

For your convenience, Form 1099G tax information is available for up to the past five years through UI Online.

Note:  If an adjustment was made to your Form 1099G, it will not be available online.  Contact the EDD by phone at 1-866-401-2849 to request a duplicate copy.
