Sequestration Reduction Calculator of Federal Extension Benefits

En español

This calculator estimates what your federal extension weekly benefit amount will be after the 17.69 percent sequestration cut is applied for federal extension tiers starting (effective) April 28, 2013 through September 22, 2013. Federal extension tiers starting (effective) September 29, 2013, or after, will NOT be affected by the sequestration cuts.

The U.S. Department of Labor has advised the EDD that a sequestration cut of 17.69 percent will continue to be applied to the weekly and maximum benefit amounts of all federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) extension tiers with start dates of April 28, 2013, through September 22, 2013. However, the weekly and maximum benefit amounts of new federal extension tiers that start September 29, 2013, or after, will NOT be cut.

After each federal extension tier is filed, the EDD will mail you a notice providing the start (effective) date of your extension and the benefit amounts available to you. We encourage you to review this notice.
