During the 1970s, employers telephoned their job orders into an EDD office, where the orders were input over teleprocessing equipment to Sacramento headquarter computers "Job Bank." The next morning, printouts were delivered to the office of all applicants who matched the skills, experience, education, and salary requirements of the order.
