2017 - 18

Veterans’ Employment-Related Assistance Program SFP PY 2017-18

The Employment Development Department, in coordination with the California Workforce Development Board and the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, announces the Solicitation for Proposals (SFP) for a Veterans Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP). This SFP makes available $5 million of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I Governor’s Discretionary funds for this program.

The VEAP program will focus to promote the use of regional industry sector strategies as the framework to help unemployed and underemployed veterans, with an emphasis on female veterans, with significant barriers to employment transition from military careers to rewarding civilian employment.

Eligible applicants are Local Workforce Development Areas, education and training providers, private non-profit organizations, private for-profit organizations, and faith and/or community-based organizations seeking innovative ways to strengthen business partnerships around in-demand jobs. Individuals are not eligible to apply. Proposal applications must be received no later than 3 p.m. PST on Friday, January 12, 2018.

Disability Employment Accelerator SFP PY 2017-18

The Employment Development Department, in coordination with the California Workforce Development Board, on behalf of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, announced the availability of up to $2 million of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Governor’s Discretionary funds in a Disability Employment Accelerator Solicitation for Proposals (SFP). The SFP’s focus is to increase significant work within a career pathway for people with disabilities, including college students who are close to fulfilling their degree requirements and/or college graduates.

Proposals will be accepted from Local Workforce Development Areas. Individuals are not eligible to apply. See additional eligibility restrictions and requirements in the SFP. Proposal applications must be received no later than 3 p.m. PT, Wednesday, October 25, 2017. For more information please refer to the documents below.

Campesino de California Outreach SFP PY 2016 - 17

On August 5, 2016 the Employment Development Department (EDD) released a Solicitation for Proposals (SFP) for the Campesino de California Outreach Program. This SFP makes available up to $250,000 in funding to provide timely information on the various programs and services provided by the EDD to the Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW) community, with an emphasis on advertising and promoting H-2A temporary agricultural jobs. This information will be disseminated through the development and delivery of 12 printed publications and 12 one-hour Spanish radio talk shows. The SFP is open to non-profit public or private agencies, community and faith-based organizations, tribal government, and educational institutions. Proposal applications must be received no later than Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Please refer to the SFP for more information.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services SFP PY 2016-17

On April 12, 2016, the Employment Development Department (EDD) announced the availability of $2,250,000 in Wagner-Peyser funds for the Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing (DHH) Solicitation for Proposals (SFP). The program is designed to assist deaf and/or hard of hearing persons in search for, obtaining and retaining unsubsidized employment, and career advancement opportunities. These services will be provided at selected America’s Job Center of CaliforniaSM (AJCC) locations. Applications will be accepted from public agencies or private non-profit corporations. All applications must be received by the EDD no later than Friday, May 13, 2016 by 3 p.m. Late proposals will not be accepted.

On April 15, 2015, the Employment Development Department (EDD) announced the availability of $2,250,000 in Wagner-Peyser funds for the Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing (DHH) Solicitation for Proposals (SFP). The program is designed to assist deaf and/or hard of hearing persons in searching for, obtaining and retaining unsubsidized employment, and career advancement opportunities. These services will be provided in selected America’s Job Center of CaliforniaSM (AJCC) locations throughout California. Applications will be accepted from public agencies or private non-profit corporations. All applications must be received by the EDD no later than Tuesday, May 12, 2015 by 3 p.m. Late proposals will not be accepted. No exceptions.
