Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services SFP 2012/13

Green Jobs 2010/11/WIA Funds

In a news release dated June 30, 2011, the EDD in coordination with the California Workforce Investment Board, on behalf of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency, announced grant awards totaling over $2 million to five organizations as a result of the Green Jobs Solicitation for Proposals released April 29, 2011. Additionally, in collaboration with the California Labor Federation, $3 million was awarded to another five organizations tasked with aligning strategies and resources emerging from the Clean Energy Workforce Training Program. Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program Phase II 2010/11

On January 14, 2011, the Employment Development Department in partnership with the California Energy Commission announced grant awards to 3 organizations as a result of the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) Phase II Solicitation for Proposal released on October 19, 2010. Green Innovation Challenge Concept Paper 2009/10

In a news release dated June 29, 2010, the Labor and Workforce Development Agency announced six grant awards totaling $19 million as a result of the Green Innovation Challenge Solicitation for Concept Paper released on May 25, 2010. These grant awards will support the development of a highly trained workforce with the critical required skills in a broad range of clean technologies including renewable energy generation, energy efficiency in buildings, alternative and renewable fuels and vehicles, energy storage, and water efficiency. In a news release dated April 26, 2010, the Labor and Workforce Development Agency announced grant awards to seven Local Workforce Investment Boards as a result of the Bridges to Success Solicitation for Proposals released on February 25, 2010. These grants will fund projects that keep at-risk youth engaged by creating a link between academic learning and summer employment programs and connecting in-school learning experience to real life work activities and career pathways. California Clean Energy Workforce Training Program 2009/10–American Recovery and Reinvestment Act WIA/SEP and AB 118 Funds

In a press release dated October 2, 2009, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced grant awards to 34 organizations as a result of the California Clean Energy Workforce Training Program Solicitation for Proposal released on August 6, 2009. This program combines funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) for the State Energy Program (SEP), the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program established by AB 118 (Núñez, Chapter 750, Statutes of 2007), Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Governor’s Discretionary funds, and private and local funds to create what’s believed to be the nation’s largest green job workforce development program.
