Ask a Question using UI OnlineSM

Ask a question about your UI claim 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a convenient and secure way right from your UI OnlineSM account. UI OnlineSM offers many different categories and topics to choose from.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Login to your UI OnlineSM account
  2. Select the “Contact Us” tab from the main menu
  3. Select the category and topic and submit your question

For detailed instructions on how to ask a question using UI OnlineSM, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Log in

Log into UI OnlineSM.

Step 2: Select “Contact Us”

Select the “Contact Us” tab from the main menu at the top of your UI OnlineSM home page.

Step 3: Select category and topic

In the “General Information” section of the “Contact Us” page, select both a category and topic from the drop -down menus. Once you select a category and topic you will be provided with some information about the topic or how to access the information using your UI OnlineSM account.

For example, if you made a mistake on your Unemployment Insurance application, you would select the following:

Question Category: Claim Questions

Question Topic: Made a Mistake on Claim Filing Application

Note: You must select both a category and topic to submit a question. Some topics are informational only and will not allow you to submit a question.

Step 4: Submit your question

Before submitting your question, you will be asked to verify your e-mail address.

If your e-mail address has changed, select “Contact Information” to update your e-mail address and other contact information.

If your e-mail address is current, select the “Submit” button.

Due to the high demand for our services, we ask for your patience. Please allow 5-7 days for processing.

Step 5: Receive a confirmation and notification

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to your personal e-mail address to let you know your question was received.

Once the EDD responds to your question(s), a notification will be sent to your personal e-mail advising you to login to your account and access your UI OnlineSM Inbox to view the message.

Step 7: Log in to receive your answer

Log into UI OnlineSM. Select the “Inbox” link from the main menu at the top of your UI OnlineSM home page. In the “Messages” section, select the message that corresponds to your question. If you wish to delete the message, select the “Delete” link to permanently remove this item from your inbox.
