What is ETN?
The Employment Training Network (ETN) is a multi-faceted, full-service
program created by the Employment Development Department (EDD) to assist
in the development and implementation of effective Welfare-to-Work (WtW)
and Workforce Investment Act (WIA) projects and programs. The ETN is
administered by the Association of California School Administrators
(ACSA) and is funded by the EDD Workforce Services Division.
The goal of the ETN is to provide immediate, short-term technical
assistance. The process is streamlined and evaluations received for
ETN services have been consistently excellent.

An ETN consultant will come on-site and provide customized, professional
assistance in any area that will improve the delivery of services. The
ETN has over 150 on-call, qualified consultants. Some of the more common

Resource Library
The ETN resource library contains books, videos, manuals, brochures and
CD-ROMs on a wide variety of employment and training topics available for
loan. To find out what materials are available, call the ETN at
(916) 654-8896 to obtain a subject-specific list, complete with helpful
abstracts. Available items requested will be sent within 24 hours.
Site Visits
The ETN will reimburse travel expenses so that program staff can see
firsthand how others are addressing issues you face in operating an
effective program. In a hands-on environment you have the opportunity
to discover which training techniques and administrative structures have
been successful.
Quarterly Newsletter
The Information Exchange newsletter, published quarterly by the ETN,
provides a variety of interesting articles on activities in the employment and training arena,
a training calendar, and the arrival of new resource materials available for loan
