According to the U.S. Department of Labor, skills acquired by veterans can meet or exceed the requirements of the civilian workforce.1 In fact, one out of three veterans have a bachelor’s degree or higher, roughly 4.4 percent higher than non-veterans.

Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVERs) are available at local offices to help you find qualified veterans for your job openings by providing free candidate screening and placement services. Step 1: Register or log in to CalJOBS to post company positions.
Step 2: Select “Find a Candidate.”
Step 3: Select “Yes” from the “Veteran” drop-down menu option.

Job Fairs and Workshops
Recruit veterans by attending an EDD job fair or workshop, available throughout California. To locate a job fair or workshop targeting veterans, visit the Job Fairs and Workshops page and look for the American flag next to the event name.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)
Did you know there’s a tax credit that promotes the hiring of veterans? The WOTC program provides a federal tax credit incentive for employers to hire veterans who need additional support to enter the workforce.
