The Labor and Workforce Development Agency, the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB), and the Employment Development Department announce the availability of up to $4.9 million in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Governor’s discretionary funds for Regional Plan Implementation (RPI)/Slingshot 4.0 projects focused on regional plan implementation: $200,000 to select a technical assistance provider to provide training and technical assistance to the 15 Regional Planning Units (RPU)to implement their regional plans, and $200,000 to select an evaluator to assess and evaluate the progress and impact of the CWDB’s Regional Plan Implementation/Slingshot 4.0 investments.

Eligible technical assistance and evaluation applicants include public and not for profit organizations, academic institutions, and private for-profit businesses.

Eligible RPU project applicants include all 15 RPUs in California. Each RPU must designate one Local Workforce Development Board as the applicant and lead fiscal agent. Only one application may be submitted for each RPU.

Significant Dates

  • Applications are due Friday, December 4, 2020, by 3 p.m. PT.
  • Interested applicants are encouraged to register for an Application Webinar scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2020.
