Unemployment Claims Support Line Unavailable

From September 20 to October 4, 2020, our claims support phone line will be unavailable. During this time, we are improving our systems to verify identities in an easier, faster way.

If you have an existing claim, you can still use UI OnlineSM to certify for benefits, reopen a claim, and monitor your account activity. For technical support, call 1-833-978-2511.

Note: If you receive a phone call from the EDD, your caller ID may show “St of CA EDD” or the UI call center numbers 1-833-978-2511 or 1-800-300-5616.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Customers

Deaf and hard of hearing callers can contact EDD using one of the following:

  • Teletypewriter (TTY) at 1-800-815-9387: (This option does not use the California Relay Service and is recommended).
  • California Relay Service (711): Provide the UI number (1-800-300-5616) to the operator.
    • Note: If you are calling outside of California, use your state’s relay service.
