To continue receiving your benefit payments, you must certify every two weeks. Repeat Step 5 until your employment situation changes.
We will remind you to certify every two weeks by sending you an email. If you’re certifying by paper, we’ll send you a Continued Claim Form (DE 4581) in the mail.

Report any wages and any work—even if you were not paid yet. Select Report Wages in UI Online for help calculating your wages before you certify.
We track new hires, rehires, and benefit payments that match new employment records. If you return to work, report it to EDD right away. This can help you avoid overpayments and penalties.
- If you work part-time or are on call, you may still qualify for reduced benefits.
- If you no longer need benefits, contact EDD or stop certifying for benefits.
