Program Year 2019 - 20

Campesino de California Outreach Grant – Complaint System Awareness and Referral Program

On September 16, 2019, the Employment Development Department released an SFP for the Campesino de California Outreach Grant (CCOG) – Complaint System Awareness and Referral Program.

Up to $150,000 in funding is available to one grantee to disburse in five subgrantee awards of up to $30,000 each. Funds are for regional projects in partnership with organizations currently serving the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) community. The purpose of this initiative is to provide measurable outreach channels designed to reduce barriers and expand access for MSFWs and their families to the Employment Service and Employment-Related Law Complaint System.

The SFP is open to nonprofit public or private agencies, community and faith-based organizations, tribal government, and educational institutions.

Proposal applications must be received no later than October 16, 2019, at 3 p.m. Please refer to the SFP for more information.

Campesino de California Outreach Grant – Radio Media

On September 16, 2019, the Employment Development Department released an SFP for the Campesino de California Outreach Grant – Radio Media.

This SFP makes available up to $100,000 in funding to provide a radio talk show outreach campaign (supported by social and other media) about the various programs and services provided by the Employment Development Department to the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) community. The MSFW Outreach Radio Talk Show must have an emphasis on promoting topics affecting the quality of life of the MSFW community, labor market information, and farmworker seasonal and temporary agricultural jobs.

The SFP is open to nonprofit public or private agencies, community and faith-based organizations, tribal government, and educational institutions.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Program

On June 13, 2019, the Employment Development Department awarded five grants totaling $2,300,000 under the SFP for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Services. The program assists DHH individuals in searching, obtaining, and retaining unsubsidized employment and career advancement opportunities. These services are provided at selected America’s Job Center of CaliforniaSM (AJCC) locations. Funding decisions are final.

Program Year 2018 - 19

Veterans Employment-Related Assistance Program

On June 4, 2019, $5 million of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Governor’s Discretionary 15 percent funds were awarded to 11 organizations under the SFP for the Veterans’ Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP). Funding decisions are final.

Disability Employment Accelerator Program

On May 13, 2019, $2,000,000 of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Governor’s Discretionary 15 percent funds were awarded to six organizations under the SFP for the Disability Employment Accelerator (DEA) Program. Funding decisions are final.

Campesino de California Outreach Grant

On October 22, 2018, a grant was awarded under the SFP for the Wagner-Peyser Act, Campesino de California Grant Program (CCOG). Funding decisions are final.
